This website, http://www.vsgoliath.org, (the “Site”) is operated by Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice and Bend the Arc: Jewish Action, which supports the vsGoliath movement (“We” or “Us”).

vsGoliath, an initiative of Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice is a movement that’s fearlessly taking on injustice in our country with American grit and a whole lot of chutzpah.

Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization creating a new generation of leaders and a new community focused on upholding the proud tradition of American Jewish progressives.

Bend the Arc Jewish Action is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization harnessing the collective energy, passion and talent of progressive American Jews to change policy and elect leaders in service of a more just and equal nation.

This policy explains how we protect the personal information of people who use our website. vsGoliath values and respects the privacy of our members. Since the protection of your privacy is of the greatest importance to us, we have created this privacy policy to communicate our practices regarding the collection and dissemination of personal information that can be linked to a specific individual, such as a name, address, phone number, e-mail address, or any other information, provided to us by our supporters and website visitors.

You do not have to share personally identifiable information to use the vsGoliath website. vsGoliath does not collect personally identifiable information about people without their permission. However, please be aware that our site may link to a limited number of other websites that you may click on and be redirected to and vsGoliath cannot control and is not responsible for the content or the privacy policies of those websites. In addition, we are not a party to, nor responsible for, any transactions you may enter into with third parties, even if you learn of such parties (or use a link to such parties) from this website.

How we use the information gathered when you become a supporter of the vsGoliath or use one of our online services:

We gather contact information when you: contribute to vsGoliath online or via mail; sign up at a vsGoliath community or other event to support a cause or initiative, or take an action; or sign up online to support a cause or initiative, or take an action. We use this information to send you communications that could include: action alerts; campaigns; events, activities and local volunteer opportunities; and, appeals for support.

vsGoliath also uses statistical information, which contains no personally identifiable information, gathered via our website to improve our web-based services. vsGoliath periodically performs statistical analyses of aggregate user behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of various areas on our website and to use such information to improve on our website’s ability to serve you better.

Emails Bend the Arc sends you through the NationBuilder email messaging system contain "personalized links" - links to our advocacy campaigns that have a unique string of characters appended to them that is personalized for each member - so that your contact information is pre-populated in the fields of a particular advocacy campaign.

Anyone using the vsGoliath website always has the option of configuring his or her browser to be alerted when the site is attempting to send a cookie and refuse the cookie. Our website tracks user activity and click-through behavior and uses IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the website, track user movement and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

How you receive emails from vsGoliath:

You will receive emails from us if you have: a) signed up on our website; b) taken an action through our website; c) support Bend the Arc’s work through a donation; or d) requested to be added to the database at an event.

The information we gather from subscribers to our email newsletters (including email addresses) is not shared with other organizations or parties. From time to time when we play a leading role in another organization’s event or if the subject matter is important for you to know about, we may send out emails on behalf of this like-minded organization, but we do not provide them with access to any personal information that you have provided.

In order to provide you with better and more relevant information, we compile information about email response and website usage. This information helps us to better understand our members’ site usage patterns and also what types of content and information may help improve your user experience on vsGoliath website.

How we track HTML newsletters:

This helps us to refine and improve the editorial content of our newsletters, and to provide you with relevant information.

"HTML-sensing" is used to determine if your email client supports HTML-based emails. This is employed only if you request our system to detect whether you can receive HTML emails.

vsGoliath is protective of the information it gathers through its programs, campaigns, organizing work, the mail, and its website. Our website has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of the information under our control. Our web server is located in a locked, secure environment. All databases containing personal information are securely stored on a separate system.

When you contribute online or by other means to vsGoliath, we use a secure server and encryption to protect your financial and other personal information during transmission.

vsGoliath does not specifically ask children under 18 for any information and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information about them. vsGoliath may from time-to-time ask children under 18 to take part in its advocacy efforts relating to its mission as an organization. These instances and any use of personally identifiable information will occur with the consent/participation of a parent/caregiver, or sponsoring organization.
